The Outlook Inn has 14 Bay View Suites with beautiful views of the water from your own private balcony.   Perched atop a hill, this view will mesmerize you no matter what the weather.

Outlook Inn - A ‘bucket’ list destination - Orcas Island is an amazingly beautiful destination and I loved being there during what they consider their ‘slow’ season. I stayed for a week in February and it wasn’t long enough. The Outlook was the perfect compliment to the Island in how nice the rooms and people are. The Inn is located in the town and is an easy walk to all the restaurants and stores. I will definitely return!

The Cats Meow on Orcas Island! We stayed in the double Jacuzzi room on the third floor. It had everything we wanted, a comfortable bed, a great view of East Sound, comfortable sitting area, a balcony, access to the beach and was in easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants of East Sound. The front desk was friendly and helpful. They have a program where you can get a $5 coupon for any day you choose to not get your room made up.

Sweet Retreat! Just returned from a quick trip to Orcas Island and had the great joy to discover Outlook Inn. FABULOUS! Located in the heart of the quaint little town Eastsound, the Inn offers relaxing accommodations and fabulous food. A huge plus is the tiny beach and tidal area just across the street. The town is full of small shops to explore and, of course, the island itself offers a ton of things to do. We were on a budget, so we stayed in the “historic” hotel rooms that are very easy on the pocketbook, small but charming nonetheless. (They do require a shared bath, so this is not for all travelers.) I understand there is quite a few lovely upgraded rooms available, so there is something here for everyone. The staff is wonderful — helpful and accommodating. This is a jewel worthy of checking into!

Rooms in the Historic Main Building with Shared Bathes   If you just need a cozy spot to tuck yourself in at night, after a day out and about, these simple rooms are for you. They are small but incredibly charming and affordable for an Orcas Island vacation.

Best breakfast we have ever had. Seriously. Both of us were quite sure that this was the best breakfast we have ever had. And this is the very first time that we have ever clicked “yes” to the question “is this one of the best meals you have had in a restaurant.”

The New Leaf is located on the lower floor of The Outlook Inn in Eastsound, Orcas Island. If you are going to Orcas, we highly recommend you stay in Eastsound.

Every person we met was incredibly service oriented and friendly. We had the duck hash and mushroom omelet with truffle oil. Both were simply spectacular.

We came back a second time and it was just as good. The brioche bread is crazy decadent but worth every calorie. All of the ingredients are so fresh and many are farm to table.

If there were more stars than 5, we would be giving them to New Leaf Cafe.

A Piece of Island History  The Historic Main Building is a grand old dame and an Orcas Island landmark.  "She" was built in 1888 by William Shattuck and originally served as the jail, post office, general store, dance hall and house of ill repute (or so the rumor goes).   In the 1970's it was the only building on the property and was home to a spiritual commune - The Louis Foundation - complete with guru, famous celebrity followers, and plenty of controversy.

Now it provides lodging to a modern crowd but it's history can be felt beneath your feet and in your heart, if you let it.  The floors are wavy from settling around the 125 year old stone fireplace on the first floor and just like a fairy godmother who lives forever, she continues to welcome, comfort, and bless those that visit her.
